Industrial punching is one of the techniques used in sheet metal forming. This process is carried out with the punching machine that has the capacity to cut, perforate and shape metal sheets using a punch and a matrix similar to a press.
In order to carry out the industrial punching technique, a compression force is applied to the punch with the objective that it exerts pressure and can be introduced into the sheet. This process produces an initial deformation of the material to be formed, which is followed by a shear stress which allows the material to be fractured and cut. Finally, the resulting cut piece is expelled from the punch.
The industrial punching technique allows fast, precise and effective processes for the forming of metal parts from different industrial sectors.
Industrial punching technology is developed on CNC punching machines. This machinery allows automated mechanical operations to make holes in sheets.
Unlike traditional equipment that is operated with manual control through hand wheels or levers, CNC machines are operated by means of commands programmed in a data storage medium.
The use of this technology allows the data to be entered in a more structured way and the programming to be coded in order to design the cutting of the sheet metal and monitor its production process.
The CNC punching process is the best alternative to laser cutting for its balance between price and quality, as long as the geometry of the part allows it. At SOME Stamping Solutions we have the latest technology to be able to develop the industrial punching process with the greatest effectiveness and guarantees.
The punching speed of the CNC punching machine in our facilities allows us to carry out prototypes as well as longer series, according to the needs of the client's project. Contact our team now for more details.
