The automated system allows quick access to necessary spare parts, optimising maintenance and ensuring a continuous production flow.
SOME has installed the Modula Lift MC50D, an automated vertical storage unit that optimises factory space. Occupying only 9 m², it offers a storage capacity of 130 m² thanks to its height. This maximises available storage space, freeing up room for other production processes within the factory. Additionally, the system provides detailed inventory control and traceability for each item, enhancing logistics management and workflow reliability.
This system manages spare parts for over 300 dies, each with 150 references, allowing operators to access the required parts for die maintenance with just a few clicks on the screen. The General Services department also uses it for its own installation and machinery spare parts.
Each tray holds up to 500 kg, with a current total of 60 trays, expandable to 72. The unit is currently at 75% capacity and can accommodate spare parts for new projects.
The Modula Lift software, integrated with SOME’s SAP system, ensures precise stock control and full traceability, minimising errors and guaranteeing the availability needed to maintain production within service and quality standards.

Today, 8 March, we share the final testimony in this series dedicated to three women at SOME who are developing their careers in different areas of the company. Three perspectives that highlight talent, commitment and the need to continue moving towards real equality of opportunities.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026 (8M), we would like to share three professional journeys of three women who have built their careers in an industrial environment traditionally dominated by men. Three different perspectives —production, logistics and management— united by a common thread: vocation, professional rigour and perseverance.

With the upcoming celebration of 8M, equality once again takes centre stage in public debate. It is an opportunity to recognise the rights that have been won and, at the same time, to remember that the professional world still has ground to cover in order to guarantee a real equality of opportunity between women and men.
